System Level Power Reference Design for A13 Automotive Wireless Charger Transmitter
PMP10709: PMP10709 is a system optimized 50 W power designs for A13 Wireless Charger Transmitter used in automotive system. The design has various front end automotive protections such as Load dump through TVS (ISO pulse testing), Reverse Voltage (Through PFET’s body diode), Battery Disconnect Switch with OVP protection (PFET). PMP10709 is primarily four Switch synchronous Buck – Boost design, which supports wide Input voltage range (7V-20V) and delivers any output from 1V-10V based on DAC output of the A13 Wireless Charger. The DAC output changes from 1V to 3.3V which in turn changes the output voltage from 10V to 1V (on the fly) as needed by the algorithm of A13 wireless charger’s transmitter. This design utilizes best in Class Synchronous four Switch Buck Boost Controller LM5175. The design accepts an input voltage of 7Vin to 20Vin and provides the output of 1V- 10V@5 A. Output current never exceeds 5A to protect the charging Coil. The average current regulation loop of the IC at the output is used for this protection.

PMP10596: The PMP10596 reference design is an LED driver based on SIMPLE SWITCHER® LM46002 buck regulator. The driver board takes 24V +/-25% input voltage and supplies700mA output current to drive up to 4 LEDs in series. The LM46002 is a 60V, 2A synchronous buck regulator with integrated FETs, and in this design it is configured as a high efficiency constant current converter. This is accomplished by using the voltage across a current sense resistor as the feedback signal. To reduce the sense resistor power loss, a 2V voltage reference is used to bias the FB pin via a resistor network, and, as a result, the equivalent feedback reference voltage becomes 0.35V, lower than the 1V feedback of the LM46002. TIDA-00781: The TIDA-00781 is a 12W SEPIC power supply reference design for industrial applications. It takes 12V nominal input voltage, and generates a 12V @ 1A output with 92% peak efficiency. The SEPIC converter topology allows voltage step-up and step-down conversion. The design covers a wide input range of 2.5V to 20V with a minimum start-up input voltage of 3.5V. When using a noisy 12V supply, the design can operate uninterrupted while maintaining a regulated 12V output. The reference design features the LM3481 as the SEPIC controller and uses a single coupled inductor to achieve compact solution size. The component area of the SEPIC is about 39 x 26 mm (1.5 x 1 inch). The reference board is layout-optimized for improved EMI performance. The design can also use the output voltage to operate, which means after the output voltage reaches 12V under normal operating conditions, the input voltage can be reduced to as low as 2.5V with the system still maintaining output voltage regulation within 5%. Note that at input voltage of 2.5V, the high input current causes the inductor to heat up to over 130°C so this is not a recommended operating condition.
