TIDA-00771: The TIDA-00771 is a 20 A RMS drive for a three phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor in power tools operating from a 3-cell Li-ion battery with a voltage range of 5 V to 12.6 V. This design is a 45 x 50 mm compact drive implementing sensor-based trapezoidal control. The design uses a discrete, compact MOSFET-based three-phase inverter delivering 20 A RMS continuous (70 A peak for 1 second) winding current, without any external cooling or heat sink. The slew rate control and charge pump of the gate drive ensures maximum inverter efficiency (>97% at 10.8V DC) from 5 V to 12.6 V and optimum EMI performance. The cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection feature protects the power stage from large stall currents and the board can work up to 55°C ambient. The small form factor enables placement of board close to the battery pack, high efficiency brings more battery duration and the 70 A peak current capability provides high momentary peak torque in power tools.
TIDM-NFC-DESFIRE-AES Near Field Communication (NFC) MIFARE DESFire EV1 Tag Authentication Reference Design | TI.com
TIDM-NFC-DESFIRE-AES: MIFARE DESFire EV1 is an ISO14443A RFID transponder and an NFC Type 4A Tag Platform that is used in many NFC and RFID security applications due to the ability it has to operate in the clear or operate as a secure transponder using AES Encryption. This design uses the TI AES library along with a MSP430G2553 LaunchPad+DLP-7970ABP BoosterPack to provide a simple demonstration of a cost effective reader system solution for AES authentication of MIFARE DESFire EV1 tags. Sample code described in this design can be downloaded from the design guide.
Low Power Capacitive Touch Solution f/Human Machine Interface (HMI) Apps Reference Design
TIDM-LPBP-CAPTOUCH: This TI Design demonstrates an ultra-low power implementation of capacitive touch inputs for various human machine interface (HMI) requirements in consumer, industrial & other applications. This solution leverages unique features available in the MSP430 Value Line microcontroller that enables developers to interface capacitive touch elements directly to a microcontroller I/O pin without the need for external, or additional passive components. The Capacitive Touch BoosterPack features several capacitive touch elements including a scroll wheel, button, and proximity sensors. When paired with the MSP430 LaunchPad this combination provides a complete hardware and software reference design to enable developers to quickly and easily replace any physical button with a capacitive touch element. This combination provides a cost effective solution for adding capacitive touch to consumer electronics, point of sales machines, and devices that have a physical button.
TIDM-ORIENTATIONTRACKER Low Power Orientation Tracker Reference Design | TI.com
TIDM-ORIENTATIONTRACKER: This reference application demonstrates how to combine an ultra-low-power MSP microcontroller, fixed-point software math libraries and an accelerometer for a low cost, ultra-low-power, simple orientation tracking solution. The MSP MCU samples the accelerometer and performs calculations in real time to determine its orientation and to detect when it is in free fall. By utilizing the IQmathLib optimized fixed point software library and excluding a gyroscope, this design can run on battery power for extended periods of time. This solution could be used to monitor tilt, drops or theft enabling a number of asset monitoring applications.
