Non-Isolated RS-485 to Wi-Fi Bridge with 24 VAC Power Reference Design
TIDA-00485: The TIDA-00485 TI Design uses Texas Instruments SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 Internet-on-a-chip Wireless MCU module to create a data bridge between an RS-485 network and a Wi-Fi network. An SN65HVD72 transceiver provides the RS-485 Interface with 12 kV of ESD protection, and additional protection is provided on board. The design can be powered with AC or DC power up to 30 V RMS or 48 V peak. A version of this design with an isolated RS-485 interface is presented in TIDA-00486.
Signal Processing Subsystem and Current Input Based Self Power for Breaker Applications (ACB/MCCB)
TIDA-00498: THe TIDA-00498 reference design features signal processing front-end and self-power block for electronic trip unit (ETU) used in circuit breakers. A FRAM based micro-controller is used for processing current inputs from signal conditioning amplifiers for 3-phase, neutral and ground current. Two gains are used to extend the range for phase current measurement. This reference design can also self-power using rectified current input. TIDA-00498 is desiged for fast and repeatable tripping (within 30mS) for wide current and temperature range.
Piezo Speaker Strobe Notification Reference Design
TIDA-00376: TIDA-00376 uses Texas Instrument’s industrial piezo driver, flash LED driver, and the ultra-low-power FRAM microcontroller (MCU) to demonstrate the implementation of both audible and visual notification subsystems, primarily intended for fire alert end-equipment systems. The TI Design demonstrates multiple alert tone frequency outputs through a single piezo transducer, as well as a low input current, high light output LED strobe.
Capacitive-Based Human Proximity Detection for System Wake-Up & Interrupt Reference Design
TIDA-00220: This TI Design uses Texas Instruments' capacitive-to-digital converter technology to provide a high-precision method to wake up systems when human interaction occurs. TIDA-00220 demonstrates techniques for alternative sensor design, environmental compensation, and electromagnetic interference protection.
Tone Stack for Guitar Amplifier Reference Design
TIPD186: This split-supply, high-performance guitar tone circuit provides control of the bass, mid, and treble frequencies of an electric guitar signal, while also providing gain with minimal distortion and noise. Buffered inputs and outputs preserve the behavior of the system independent of the source and load impedances, and a radio frequency (RF) filter on the circuit front end attenuates noise from outside the audio band.
Isolated RS-485 to Wi-Fi Bridge with 24 VAC Power Reference Design
TIDA-00486: The TIDA-00486 TI Design uses Texas Instruments SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 Internet-on-a-chip Wireless MCU module to create a data bridge between an RS-485 network and a Wi-Fi network. An ISO15 transceiver provides an isolated RS-485 interface with up to 2500 VRMS of isolation. The LM5160 Fly-Buck™ power supply provides both isolated and non-isolated 3.3 V outputs for the two portions of the circuit. The design can be powered with AC or DC power up to 30 VRMS or 48 V peak A version of this design with a non-isolated RS-485 interface is presented in TIDA-00485.
