High Efficiency Forward Converter (12V@7A) for PoE Powered Device (PD)
PMP5124: The PMP5124 reference design provides 12V at 7A from a 48V telecom input with greater than 95% efficiency. This design uses the UCC2897A active clamp controller with self-driven synchronous rectifiers to achieve very high efficiency.
18-60VDCin, 6V/31A Active Clamp Forward Reference Design
PMP10395: This reference design generates a 6V/31A output from a wide range 18V to 60V DC telecom input. The UCC2897A controls an active clamp forward converter power stage. The low gate charge and low RDSon of the CSD18540Q5B, implemented as self-driven synchronous rectifiers, allow this design to achieve a max load efficiency over 94%. The compact UCC27511 drivers simplify the gate drive circuitry for the synchronous rectifiers.
48V Input 3.3V/30A with Output Pre-bias
PMP5997: This reference design generates a 3.3V/100W output from a standard 48V telecom input and allows for a pre-biased output. The UCC2897A controls operation of the active clamp power stage. The drive signal for the synchronous rectifiers is sent to the secondary side through an ISO7220 digital isolator. This drive signal is blanked out during startup to allow for a pre-biased output. This design achieves efficiencies over 92% and is built on a standard ¼ brick footprint.
36V-75VDC Input, 12V/10A Active Clamp Forward, 1/8th Brick Form Factor
PMP7451: This reference design generates a 12V/10A output from a standard 48V telecom input. The UCC2897A controls an active clamp forward converter power stage. The low gate charge and low RDSon of the CSD18531Q5A, implemented as self-driven synchronous rectifiers, provide for a highly efficient design. This design is laid out in a standard 1/8th brick footprint and includes enable, remote sense, and output overvoltage features.
48V-60VDC Input, 12V/250W Active Clamp Forward Reference Design
PMP9656: This reference design generates a 12V/21A output from 54V DC input. The UCC2897A controls an active clamp forward converter power stage. The low gate charge and low RDSon of the CSD18532Q5B, implemented as self-driven synchronous rectifiers, allow this design to achieve a max load efficiency of nearly 96%. The compact UCC27511 drivers simplify the gate drive circuitry for the synchronous rectifiers.

TIPD184: This TI Precision Verified Design provides a complete 100 A closed loop Hall based current sensor solution using the DRV411 with bi-polar popwer supplies. The DRV411 provides Hall excitation, a compensation coil driver and a precision difference amplifier in a single package. The unique current spinning technology employed on the DRV411 virtually eliminates the offset and 1/f noise of the Hall device.
