TIDA-00165 Small Form Factor, 2-Wire 4 to 20mA Current Loop RTD Temperature Transmitter Reference Design | TI.com
TIDA-00165: This is a reference design for a robust, low power, precise and long-term stable 2-wire loop powered 4 to 20mA current output temperature transmitter. It uses RTD temperature sensor with 4 to 20mA current loop transmitter. It also explains sensor signal conditioning, ratiometric measurement technique, recommended software flow, calibration, sensor linearization, PCB layout and other practical design considerations. Furthermore, external protection circuitry is deployed in-place for compliance with regulatory IEC61000-4 standards – EFT, ESD and Surge requirements. EMC compliance to IEC61000-4 is necessary to ensure that the design not only survives but also performs as intended in the harsh/noisy industrial environment. All the relevant design files like Schematics, BOM, Layer plots, Altium files, Gerber and MSP430 MCU software have also been provided to the users.
TIDA-00095 RTD Temperature Transmitter for 2-wire, 4 to 20-mA Current Loop Systems | TI.com
TIDA-00095: This comprehensive design provides a complete system that measures and processes temperature signals inputs from 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and outputs a 4 to 20-mA current-loop signal corresponding to the temperature processed from the RTD inputs. It is intended as a reference design for process measurement applications in factory automation, field transmitters and building automation. With less than 0.17°C maximum measured error over -200°C to 850°C, extremely low loop power consumption 1.4mA (typical including RTD biasing currents) and IEC61000 pre compliance testing, this design significantly reduces the design time for development of high accuracy temperature transmitter systems. It also addresses system level calibration - both offset and gain that can be implemented to improve ADC and DAC accuracy as well as also includes linear interpolation to address the non-linearity of the RTD element.
4-20mA Current Loop Transmitter Reference Design
TIDA-00648: The TIDA-00648 TI Design is an industry standard 4-20 mA current loop transmitter. It also allows injection of FSK modulated digital data into the 4-20 mA current loop for HART communication. External protection circuitry is deployed in-place for compliance with regulatory IEC61000-4 standards – EFT, ESD and Surge requirements. EMC compliance to IEC61000-4 is necessary to ensure that the design not only survives but also performs as intended in the harsh/noisy industrial environment.
TIDA-00666 Field Transmitter with BLE Connectivity Powered from 4 to 20-mA Current Loop Reference Design | TI.com
TIDA-00666: The TIDA-00666 TI Design enables Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication powered from a 2-wire 4- to 20-mA loop. For industrial process control instruments, analog 4- to 20-mA current loops are commonly used for analog signaling, with 4 mA representing the lowest end of the range and 20 mA the highest. The TIDA-00666 reference design measures humidity and temperature and it is broadcasting the measured values with Bluetooth Low Energy. The TIDA-00666 design is loop powered and the current value on the loop is changed according to the humidity value (0% is 4mA and 100% is 20mA).
Dual Sensor Measurement Using Single Current-Loop with FSK Modulation Reference Design
TIDA-00483: The TIDA-00483 reference design brings together several devices to create a subsystem capable of measuring the surrounding environment and communicating the temperature, humidity, and ambient light over a 4- to 20-mA current loop. The small foot print of the design contains all sensors, filters, and control circuitry to calculate and communicate the sensor data. The reference design is intended for process measurement applications in factory automation, field transmitters, and building automation. The sensors, MCU, and communication modules all run off power from the current loop, which requires less than 3.5 mA to achieve. This power configuration allows the rest of the current to be dynamically adjustable for the 4- to 20-mA loop communication protocol standard.
