Multi-phase Energy Measurement with Isolated Shunt Sensors Reference Design
TIDA-00601: The TIDA-00601 design implements a Class 0.5% three-phase energy measurement system with isolated shunt sensors. The isolation is achieved through the use of isolated delta-sigma modulators that have output circuitry capacitively isolated from input circuitry. An energy measurement SoC takes the different bit-streams from the isolated modulators and uses its on-board digital filters to produce ADC sample readings. The energy measurement SoC is also used for sensing voltages, calculating metrology parameter values, driving the board’s LCD, and communication to a PC GUI via the board’s isolated RS-232 circuitry. This reference design uses the ISO7420 and ISO7421. This reference design can also be used with the ISO7320C and ISO7321C. This reference design uses the AMC1304M05. TIDM-SOLARUINV Grid-tied Solar Micro Inverter with MPPT | TI.com
TIDM-SOLARUINV: This design is a digitally-controlled, grid-tied, solar micro inverter with maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Solar micro inverters are an emerging segment of the solar power industry. Rather than linking every solar panel in an installation to a central inverter, solar micro inverter-based installations link smaller, or “micro,” inverters individually to each solar panel. This configuration lends itself to many benefits, including elimination of partial shading conditions, increased system efficiency, improved reliability and greater modularity. For this design, a C2000™ Piccolo™ TMS320F28035 microcontroller (MCU) is the digital controller for the complete inverter, including control of the power stages, MPPT, and grid-tie synchronization. The power conversion stages include 1) an active clamp fly-back DC/DC converter with secondary voltage multiplier and 2) a grid-tied, DC/AC inverter. The design achieves 93 percent peak efficiency and less than 4 percent total harmonic distortion, providing more power output per solar panel, reducing detrimental heat dissipation, and increasing system longevity.

TIDA-00231 Adaptive Power Supply for PLC Analog Output Module with Output Channel Protection | TI.com
TIDA-00231: TIDA-00231 is a reference design for an industrial Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) analog output module. The design provides a unique power saving solution for a digital-to-analog converter (DAC)-based analog current output module with an adaptive power supply. This adaptive power supply dynamically regulates the AVDD supply of the DAC and limits power losses to < 50mW for typical load resistance of > 300Ω. The analog output can source current up to 24mA. This reference design includes the necessary on-board protection circuit and has been tested to IEC61000-4 standard EFT, ESD, and surge requirements with IO Controller platforms. The protection circuitry does not negatively affect the design and Test results showed typical unadjusted errors were less than 0.2% FSR and calibrated accuracy is 0.05%.
