Since the load is a power line communication chip, a fixed frequency modulation has been chosen. The controller LM5021 performs also pulse skip mode thus improving efficiency at light load. A synchronous rectification controller UCC24630 has been employed to increase the efficiency and the thermal performance.

PFC Boost LLC Resonant Half-bridge 24V@3.5A
PMP5761: PMP5761 is designed for hybrid filber/coax system with nominal 40VAC-90VAC input and generate a 24V/3.5A output. A cascade PFC and LLC-SRC two stage system is applied in this design to guarantee high power factor is achieved in nominal input range. Transition mode PFC controller UCC28051 and resonant converter controller UCC25600 are applied to PFC and LLC-SRC, respectively. With PFC output set to 300V, PMP5761 is able to keep out in regulation with input up to 200VAC. 80% converter efficiency is achieved at 40VAC and 87% converter efficiency is achieved at 115VAC.

PMP10407: PMP10407 is a quasi-resonant Flyback power suppy based on the UCC28730 primary side regulation (PSR) controller demonstrating the use of wake up device UCC24650 to achieve rapid load transient response from light load condition when the system is under low frequency operation. The elimination of optocoupler using PSR topology promises higher reliability and lower system cost. The design achieves less than 50mW standby power losses and over 86% efficiency at 25% load. The design also features UCC24610 synchronous rectification controller and demonstrates the use of UCC24650's ENS pin output to enforce diode rectification at light load conditions to reduce stand-by power losses.

PMP5327: The PMP5327 reference design provides a 42V/6A output with power factor correction from a universal AC input voltage range. This design uses the UCC28019A to control the front end PFC boost stage. The output of the PFC is followed by a UCC25600 LLC resonant half-bridge. The total efficieny, from input to output is over 92% from a 230VAC input and over 89% from a 115VAC input. An additional 12V/250mA output is also generated by this supply.
Universal AC DLP Power Supply (40V @ 10A)
PMP5500.1: This reference design provides 400W of power from a universal AC input with power factor correction. The UCC28019A controls a PFC boost front end, while the UCC25600 LLC resonant-half bridge converts the PFC output to isolated 40V, 33V, and 27V outputs. The total system efficiency is over 89% with a 230VAC input and over 85% with an 115VAC input.
400VDC Input 12V/60W Synchronous Flyback
PMP5195: The PMP5195 reference design generates an isolated 5V at 60W. This design uses the UCC28610 quasi-resonant flyback controller in conjunction with current-transformer-driven synchronous rectifiers to provide good efficiency at heavy loads while maintaining low power consumption at light loads. The maximum load efficiency is over 90%, and the no load losses are less than 200mW when powered from a 400VDC input voltage.
