TIDM-THREEPHASE-BSDC: This reference design demonstrates a motor control solution for spinning three-phase brushed DC or single stepper motor - featuring the C2000™ Piccolo™ microcontroller and the DRV8412 three-phase motor driver. This highly integrated, robust motor control and driver solution speeds development time for brushed and stepper motors running up to 6 A continuous / 12 A peak at 50 V. Typical applications include medical pumps, gate openers, stage lighting, textile manufacturing tools, and industrial or consumer robotics. This reference design is based on the DRV8412 evaluation kit.

TIDEP0050: The TIDEP0050 TI Design implements the EnDat 2.2 Master protocol stack and hardware interface solution based on the HEIDENHAIN EnDat 2.2 standard for position or rotary encoders. The design is composed of the EnDat 2.2 Master protocol stack, half-duplex communications using RS485 transceivers and the line termination implemented on the Sitara AM437x Industrial Development Kit. This design is fully tested to meet the HEIDENHAIN EnDat 2.2 standard. Along with EnDat position feedback, the AM437x IDK is also able to support industrial communications and motor drive as described in the AM437x Single-Chip Motor-Control Design Guide.

Also provided is an alternative measurement circuit with external differential SAR ADCs as well as circuits for high-speed overcurrent and earth fault detection. Proper differential signal conditioning improves noise immunity on critical current measurements in motor drives. This reference design can help increase the effective resolution of the analog-to-digital conversion, improving motor drive efficiency.
