TIDA-00163: This design implements an isolated data converter that utilizes residual power from the interface to power itself. This removes the requirement for expensive power transmission across the isolation boundary. By easily enabling the ubiquitous RS-232 connection on an electric meter, features like factory configuration and calibration can be performed by a wide range of test station hardware. The 2.5kVRMS isolation boundary ensures that field technicians can safely connect to an e-meter, even after it is installed, to perform diagnostics, data retrieval, and field firmware updates. The robust interface is installed, to perform diagnostics, data retrieval and field firmware updates. The robust interface is designed for data rates well beyond the RS-232 standard, to ensure that isolation will never be the limiting factor in a design.
Multi-phase Energy Measurement with Isolated Shunt Sensors Reference Design
TIDA-00601: The TIDA-00601 design implements a Class 0.5% three-phase energy measurement system with isolated shunt sensors. The isolation is achieved through the use of isolated delta-sigma modulators that have output circuitry capacitively isolated from input circuitry. An energy measurement SoC takes the different bit-streams from the isolated modulators and uses its on-board digital filters to produce ADC sample readings. The energy measurement SoC is also used for sensing voltages, calculating metrology parameter values, driving the board’s LCD, and communication to a PC GUI via the board’s isolated RS-232 circuitry. This reference design uses the ISO7420 and ISO7421. This reference design can also be used with the ISO7320C and ISO7321C. This reference design uses the AMC1304M05. This reference design can also be used with the AMC1304M25. This reference design uses the MSP430F67641. This reference design can also be used with the MSP430F67641A.

TIDA-01088: The TIDA-01088 reference design implements power quality parameter measurement in a polyphase energy measurement system. Total harmonic distortion (THD), fundamental readings, and standard metrology parameters such as active and reactive energy and power are calculated. Phase to phase angles are also calculated to help prevent incorrect installation of the system. This design uses isolated shunt current sensors to maintain accuracy in harmonic analysis and also immunity from magnetic tamper attacks.

TIDA-00839 Magnetic Tamper Detection Using Low-Power Hall Effect Sensors Reference Design | TI.com
TIDA-00839: Magnetic tampering can paralyze any transformer in an energy measurement system, which may potentially lead to the system being unable to be powered properly or unable to correctly register the energy consumed by a load. This design implements a Class 0.2 three-phase energy measurement system that detects magnetic tampering using hall sensors. Magnetic tamper detection is enabled when running from both main and backup power sources. Methods are used to reduce the current consumption of the hall sensors to increase battery life when running from the backup power source.
