Non-Isolated RS-485 to Wi-Fi Bridge with 24 VAC Power Reference Design
TIDA-00485: The TIDA-00485 TI Design uses Texas Instruments SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 Internet-on-a-chip Wireless MCU module to create a data bridge between an RS-485 network and a Wi-Fi network. An SN65HVD72 transceiver provides the RS-485 Interface with 12 kV of ESD protection, and additional protection is provided on board. The design can be powered with AC or DC power up to 30 V RMS or 48 V peak. A version of this design with an isolated RS-485 interface is presented in TIDA-00486.

Small Wireless Power Transmitter for Low Power Wearable Applications
TIDA-00334: TI design TIDA-00334 wireless power supply transmitter is an application of the bq500212A IC in a small form factor design targeted at low power wearable devices. Input voltage to the unit is 5V from a Micro USB connector. The low power design will support output power at the receiver up to 2.5W. All key transmitter circuits are laid out in a 30mm area which matches the diameter the Wurth coil P/N 760308101103. This area is slightly larger than a US Quarter or 2 Euro coin. PCB is 38mm X 76mm (1.5” X 3.0”) but area for the circuit is inside the 30mm coil diameter is about 700mm2.
High Efficiency, Power Density 1V/120A/30A/30A (4+1+1) w/ PMBus Reference Design for ASIC Processors
PMP11184.2: PMP11184 is a chipset solution for high current ASIC core rail regulation. It utilizes TPS53647 4-phase controller for 120A high current rail, which employs DCAP+ control for fast transient response and TI's proprietary AutoBalance for tight steady and dynamic phase-to-phase current balance. It also utilizes TPS40428 dual controller for dual 30A rails. Both controllers drive TI NexFET smart power stages for high power density and efficiency. PMBus capability and on-board NVM enable easy design, configuration, and customization, with telemetry of output voltage, current, temperature, and power.
High-Eff 2Stage Univ Input Pwr Supply Using Trans Mode PFC/LLC Resonant Conv Reference Design
PMP8920: Low EMI, high efficiency, high power factor and reliable power supply are main focus of the PMP8920 design for telecom applications. Transient mode (TM) power factor correction (PFC) with UCC28051 and LLC series resonant converter (SRC) with UCC25600 are applied in PMP8911. In addition, synchronous rectifier (SR) IC UCC24610 is applied to LLC output rectifier stage. Low EMI is expected with zero voltage switching on TM-PFC and LLC-SRC switches. An overall 91% efficiency is achieved at 100W full load. In addition, several protections are embedded into this design which includes input under-voltage protection, input over-voltage protection, output over-voltage protection, and output hic-cup over-power protection.
Wireless Thermocouple Sensor Transmitter DevPack for SensorTag Reference Design
TIDA-00650: The TIDA-00650 reference design shows how to build a wireless thermocouple based temperature transmitter. The design is in the DevPack form factor which can be used in combination with TIs SensorTag. This allows for the development of a wireless link with Bluetooth® Smart or other wireless technologies (Zigbee, WiFi, sub 1GHz). The 24-bit ∆Σ sensor front-end utilized in this design allows for operation over the -40 to +85C temperature range.
Basestation Transceiver with DPD Feedback Path
TIDA-00068: The design is for a small cell base station development platform. It provides two real receive paths, two complex transmit paths, and a shared real feedback path. This design has macro basestation performance, but with small cell base station footprint. The current design handles up to 20MHz of bandwidth.
Wideband Digital to RF Transmit Solution
TIDA-00072: The TSW308x is an example design of a wideband digital to RF transmit solution capable of generating 600 MHz of contiguous RF spectrum. The system provides a reference on how to use the DAC34x8x, TRF3705 IQ modulator and LMK0480x to achieve this. This reference EVM coupled with a pattern generator such as the TSW1400EVM can be used to arbitrarily generate narrow band and wideband signals at RF. Examples of configurations to generate standards compliant WCDMA test signals are provided.
Interface to a Sin/Cos Encoder with Sitara AM437x Reference Design
TIDA-00178: The TIDA-00178 reference design is an EMC compliant industrial interface to Sin/Cos position encoders. Applications include industrial drives, which require accurate speed and position control. The design utilizes a 16-bit dual sample ADC with drop-in compatible 14- or 12-bit versions available, allowing for optimization of performance and cost. TIDA-00178 provides a direct connection to Sitara AM437x using SPI and QEP. For quick evaluation it features a 60-pin connector which directly fits the AM437x IDK. An example firmware for Sitara AM437x IDK is provided, which outputs the measured angle from the Sin/Cos encoder with up to 28-bit resolution through the Sitara’s USB virtual COM port.

PMP10135: PMP10035 is a sycnchronous buck converter with 48V input voltage and 31V output voltage. Due to ceramic capacitors only this design is suitable for automotive applications (48V bus). With switching frequency of 400kHz, the efficiency is higher than 96% at full load.
